This lesson is one of my favorites in the unit. Students got to spend the class looking up different graphs that were found in the media. They were able to apply some of their critical thinking abilities to situations where they actually have to think about the information they are finding. In the media students get tons of information, and most of it only tells part of the information, so how do they look at what the data is really saying. The students completed the assignment, with a lot of comfort. They could all figure out why the graphs were misrepresenting data, but they couldn’t easily determine how to show the data more accurately. I would definitely use this assignment again!
